A part of the respected Buddhist mantra Nam Myoho Renge Kyo, the word Myoho symbolises the mystic forces of nature, beauty and calmness. It is this understated beauty and calm that Kiran Jaisinghani and Meghna Agarwal aspired to capture through their label that was launched in August 2007.
While Kiran studied fashion at SNDT University and London College of Fashion, Meghna is an alumna of National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). Together, their design approach represents garments that are relaxed, organic, and derived from a storehouse of earthy Indian handlooms.
Their ensembles are an amalgamation of earthy textiles, subtle textures and fluid forms. With an aim to strive for balance visually, as well as the balance of traditional fabric and contemporary forms, their relaxed, earthy and flattering ensembles are an extension of their personalities. Epitomising a relaxed sensibility and an eternal femininity, their collection is a pure celebration of ethnic fabrics transformed into modern artworks. Featuring a palette dominated by magical Indian tones, the unique touches of delicate details and rich textures help maintain a refined aesthetic.
Ajrakh block prints, dyes and bold floral appliqués on handlooms are signature features of Myoho ensembles. Bollywood celebrities including Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Shraddha Kapoor have been spotted wearing this designer duos ensemble on several occasions.
