From having a modest workforce of just three people, Sabyasachi Mukherjee has graduated into a successful fashion entrepreneur and clothing brand that caters to the increasing demands of the Indian bridal clothing market. His design philosophy relies on personalisation and celebration of Indian culture, with a strong design aesthetic inspired from his hometown in Kolkata. He describes his own collections as 'international styling with an Indian soul’ and caters to the ever-evolving, vibrant and complex demographic of India.
His bridal trousseau is best known for varying silhouettes, color combinations, design and styling that is very evident through his ever-expanding loyal clientele list.
From the ethereal lehengas studded with semi-precious stones, beads and pearls to richly embroidered and opulent velvet lehengas fit for royalty, Sabyasachi plays with elements of the past and present, combining heirloom details with modern, skin-baring silhouettes. The designer’s success has been marked on numerous occasions through various awards, and he was also the only Indian designer to be invited to showcase at the Milan Fashion Week 2004. From designing wedding lehengas for Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra in 2018 to styling them and the other Bollywood stars, the celebrated designer's creations have become synonymous with wedding couture.
